“The Lord has chosen me.”
On the morning of February 22, 2020, the sisters of Our Lady of the Missions of Viet Nam Province rejoice to offer the blessing to God for the novice Maria Vu Thi Thom who is going to make her first Vows. The Mass was celebrated at 9.30am in the chapel of Thu Duc convent.
Father Johnakim Le Van Chinh – Redemptorist priest, giving preaching, in his homily he emphasized: “We did not choose God but God chose, sent us and bear fruits. The fruit of that, according to Pope Francis, is that we need to become “people who awaken the world” by the witness of our lives, of our generosity, our sacrifices, our selfless service to God and others.”
After the homily was the ritual of making first vows, the ceremony took place solemnly and deeply, the novice Maria recited the vows in the witness of the liturgical community. She made her vows for one year. The Mass ended at 11 o’clock.
Thank God for calling Maria Vu Thi Thom and thank God for her holy decision to dedicate all her love to God through the reply: “Here I am, the Lord has called me”.
Thank God for the gift of the vocation of the missionary nun that God has given to sister Maria Vu Thi Thom and the Congregation today.
