Dear Sisters and Friends
September 21st is International Day of Peace. Each year the International Day of Peace is observed throughout the world on this day. The General Assembly of the United Nations has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of Peace both within and among all nations and all peoples.
Pope Francis on the Church’s World Day of Peace gave this message: No peace without a “culture of care”. The Holy Father appeals to the international community and every individual to foster a culture of care by advancing on the “path of fraternity, justice and peace between individuals, communities, peoples and nations.” “There can be no peace without a culture of care,” the Pope stresses in his message on the World Day of Peace. The Holy Father calls for “a common, supportive and inclusive commitment to protecting and promoting the dignity and good of all, a willingness to show care and compassion, to work for reconciliation and healing, and to advance mutual respect and acceptance.” (Pope Francis on World Day of Peace)
Your generosity and partnership in the projects featured in this Newsletter is a great sign of your care and compassion that gives dignity to all, and contributes to the ideals of Peace. Let us continue to be peacemakers in our families, our communities and our world. God bless your efforts to be peacemakers!
