THE EPISCOPAL ORDINATION OF FATHER MOSESE VITOLIO TUI SDB

On August 22nd, 2024, the Archdiocese of Samoa Apia gathered at TofamamaoCentre as we celebrated the Episcopal Ordination of Father Mosese Vitolio TuiSDB as the new Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Samoa Apia. The celebrations coincided with the Feast Day of the Queenship of Mary, adding a profound spiritual significance to the ordination. Three of us RNDMs, Margaret Monaghan, Losa Tofilau and Monika Vaipuna attended all the four-day celebrations. The joy, laughter and love shared by so many, was the highlight of it all for me!

The new Archbishop was taught by our Sisters, both in Primary and Secondary level. That was where our friendship and relationship with Fr Mosese started. He was one of the few boarders who lived up at the Sisters’ school premises while attending Logoipulotu College! Fr Mosese befriended many of the Mission Sisters and vice versa. We have had very close contact with him ever since. I have worked together with him for many years in schools, both in Savaii and Apia.

Archbishop Mosese is a man who walks the talk. He wears a smile all the time wherever and whatever he’s doing. He has done so much for the people of Samoa, through Education and parish work.  So many people know him because of his sense of humour and of course a “people person” from old people to young children. The people of Samoa are so excited having him as our new Archbishop. Please keep him in your prayers.
