In the cherished tradition of RNDM Thu Duc Community, the sisters, along with benefactors, associates, novices, aspirants, and students, organized a warm meal for less fortunate brothers and sisters living in Saigon on Sunday, January 12, 2025.
Despite the blazing sun, the warmth of our less fortunate friends was even more radiant. Shy smiles of first-time attendees mingled with cheerful greetings of familiar faces. Sister Maria Hong Hanh, community leader, opened the event with heartfelt blessings, thanking guests and leading the Our Father prayer.
The community hosted a meal for God’s children across the city. Those with mobility challenges were served on their tricycles, while others sat on prepared chairs in the shade. A lucky draw with gifts brought joy and gratitude, adding to the lively atmosphere with songs from participants and students. Last year, around 350 people attended; this year, the number exceeded 700, and the sisters quickly adapted to ensure no one left empty-handed.
We thank God for His love, which gives us the opportunity to serve and share with those less fortunate. May God bless the benefactors who have generously opened their hearts to join us in this mission. We find joy in giving, as God’s Word assures: “Give to others, and God will give to you.” (Luke 6:38)
