Cry for Justice

Our Lady Queen of the Missions School, Park Circus, prides itself for instilling values and morals in young minds from the very inception of education. We, the Sisters and teachers believe that a truly literate mind not only excels academically but nestles a sense of responsibility towards societal growth.

On the 20th of August 2024, the QMS family experienced a day of pride as we all came together in pursuit of justice for the brutal crime against a young aspiring doctor at RG Kar Medical College, her supposedly secure workplace. Students from classes V to X, along with all sisters and teachers, marched from the school to Gariahat and back in solidarity with the cause, seeking justice for the victim and a safe and secure environment for everyone.

Some parents, ex-teachers, and students from previous batches also participated in the march, sending a strong message to the world that justice must prevail. It was empowering to see women walking hand-in-hand, displaying placards with bold messages in solidarity with the cause, their voices ringing in unison for justice for the victim.

Efforts to be part of the protest continue, with students of Class VII organizing a school fete on the 3rd of October 2024 as a mark of integrity and support to the protesting masses. Their efforts paid off as they were able to collect a significant amount, which will be donated to the Junior Doctor’s Fund for necessary expenses as the protest continues until justice is achieved. It is high time we assert our basic rights as conscientious citizens and fight for justice. Let these endeavors continue in the times ahead.
