11th February 2023 was a joyful day for the RNDMs of Vietnam Province as we celebrated the First Profession of Maria Goretti Tran Thi Hong Phan. The ceremony took place in the RNDM Trinity chapel, in Thu Duc Covent. The Eucharistic celebration was solemnised by Reverend Father John Baptist Tam Quan, the Thu Duc Parish Priest, along with other co-celebrants. Many RNDM Sisters from different communities and her family members graced the occasion. Sister Maria Ly Thi Bich Quyen, the Province Leader received sister Maria Goretti’s vows.
In his homily, father reminded everyone of the Consecrated Vocation, a vocation that God has planned from thousands of years for those who are chosen by God. When one “is open to follows God’s plan” they will be called by God to participate in His Divine Mission, no matter how fragile or weak they may be. He said that the name of the new sister “Hồng Phấn”, reminds us of the fragility of the human condition like ” Chalk dust-Phấn”, but with God’s “Grace- Hồng ân”, we can do things beyond our abilities. Today, Sister Maria Goretti Hong Phan has courageously responded to God’s call to be his witness, a witness of God’s love and mercy in the heart of the world.
After the Mass, the friendship meal was shared at the hall, everyone enjoyed the delicious dishes cheerfully. We concluded the day of celebration by praising God for all the blessings with the thanksgiving prayer.
“Only God, God’s will, His glory” (Mother Euphrasie Barbier), is Maria Goretti’s wish, we wish M. Goretti well. May she courageously follow in the footsteps of Mother Euphrasie Barbier to the service of the humanity and the church through the RNDM Congregation in joy and faithful love. Congratulations to Sister Maria Goretti!
